Fondazione Links is an Italian non-profit research and innovation organization dedicated to leveraging advanced technologies and knowledge to address societal and environmental challenges. The foundation has extensive expertise in climate resilience, environmental monitoring, and the development of AI-driven solutions for rural and urban communities. LINKS combines Earth Observation data, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to deliver actionable insights for climate adaptation, disaster risk management, and biodiversity conservation, and is recognized as a leader in solutions for sustainable societal transformation.

Role in the project

Within the REHUBS project, LINKS leads activities on “Advanced Tailored Adaptation Solutions for Rural Areas”, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of climate adaptation strategies for rural regions across Europe. LINKS develops AI-based tools for rapid wildfire detection and dynamic wildfire risk forecasting, supports technical management, co-designs the system architecture, and collaborates with partners in implementing the RAAP platform. LINKS plays a key role in the Beira Baixa (Portugal) demo case, managing wildfire solutions and emergency preparedness, and contributes to replication activities in other European regions.
