Demonstration Cases
REHUBS tests its solutions in four Demonstration Cases across Europe. Each case focuses on specific climate risks and local challenges, allowing the project to validate its tools in real rural contexts.
Thessaly, Sofades and Tavropos
The Greek Demonstration Case focuses on droughts, floods, and heatwaves.
REHUBS will support the area through solutions related to smart irrigation, water reuse, nature-based solutions, and improved climate risk management.
Manlleu, Catalonia
The Spanish Demonstration Case focuses on early-warning systems and flood and drought risk management.
REHUBS will support local resilience by providing tools that help monitor, assess, and respond to climate-related water risks.
Beira Baixa
The Portuguese Demonstration Case focuses on wildfire risk.
REHUBS will test AI-based wildfire monitoring and response systems to support early detection, preparedness, and improved protection of rural areas and ecosystems.
Šakiai
The Lithuanian Demonstration Case focuses on biodiversity monitoring.
REHUBS will use drones, thermal cameras, and AI applications to support sustainable land management, wildlife monitoring, biodiversity conservation, and rural resilience.
Replication Sites
REHUBS will also assess the replication potential of its solutions in three additional regions.
These Replication Sites help the project understand how its tools, methods, and approaches can be transferred to different rural contexts across Europe.
Pomurje
The Pomurje Replication Site will support the assessment of REHUBS solutions in a rural region facing climate adaptation challenges.
South Nicosia–Idalion
The South Nicosia–Idalion Replication Site will help explore the transferability of REHUBS solutions in an area affected by water stress and climate pressures.
Međimurje
The Međimurje Replication Site will contribute to the evaluation of how REHUBS tools and approaches can be adapted to different rural and territorial needs.
Rural Micro Hubs
Rural Micro Hubs are at the heart of the REHUBS approach.
They act as local centres for collaboration, training, knowledge exchange, and co-creation. Through the Rural Micro Hubs, local communities, authorities, farmers, researchers, businesses, citizens, and other stakeholders come together to discuss needs, test solutions, share knowledge, and strengthen climate adaptation capacity.
