Rural communities across Europe are increasingly facing the impacts of climate change, highlighting the need for solutions that are both innovative and grounded in local realities. Within this context, the REHUBS project supports rural areas through participatory approaches, bringing together stakeholders to better understand challenges and co-develop pathways towards climate resilience.
A local workshop with a shared purpose
On March 19th, 2026, the REHUBS Rural Micro Hub in Thessaly hosted a co-creation workshop in Karditsa, bringing together farmers, agronomists, local authorities, and other professionals. The workshop was organised by TOEB Tavropou, AgroApps, the Municipality of Sofades, and alchemia-nova, focusing on understanding local climate risks and regional agricultural challenges.
Fostering dialogue and shared perspectives
Held at the Kierion Hotel, the workshop encouraged open discussion among participants from different backgrounds, highlighting the value of bringing together diverse perspectives at the local level. Through this exchange, participants contributed to a broader understanding of regional needs and priorities, while also reinforcing the importance of cooperation in addressing climate-related challenges.

The role of co-creation in REHUBS
This activity reflects the core approach of REHUBS, where Rural Micro Hubs function as living labs for collaboration and knowledge exchange. By actively involving local stakeholders, the project ensures that future solutions are shaped by real needs and experiences, supporting more effective and locally relevant climate adaptation strategies.
Looking ahead
The outcomes of the workshop will contribute to the ongoing work of REHUBS in Thessaly, supporting the development of tools and approaches tailored to the region. As the project continues, similar participatory activities will play a key role in strengthening engagement and fostering resilient rural communities.
